i found one of your dreams in the public garden

17 May

if you happen to hear yourself
in any of these poems or
not really poems,
it’s because you provided the bricks,
mortar too.
i just spaced it all out
with that tool
whose name I can’t remember;
the rectangular spatchula thingamajig

whoops! I almost forgot the poem about
your dream discovered in the lost and found garden…..

we don’t even have to decide.
we blow seeds with every breath
and top soil words are planted
in dawn’s dead mice odor,
bus cabins,
grocery check out lines
and the tumble cycle of words
makes bouquet.
we transplanters of ensemble.

    Trowel. It’s called a trowel.

Where the heck have YOU been, Steve? I didn’t even know that you started your blog up again until I ran into a comment that you wrote on thewkkortas.wordpress.com blog. You had stopped this blog and had told me in December that you gave up on it.

What happened to you in the interim? You just disappeared. You even stopped reading MY blog. I thought that maybe you were in the Witness Protection Program under a different name.

Well, I just want to say that I liked that poem. A LOT. Nice going! THIS time, don’t delete this great stuff that you write!

    Sincerely,
    Glen

glen..that was some poem wkkortas penned about the harvey haddix not so perfect game!
one of my new all time favorites.
william miller referenced it the other day.

i like your witness protection program explanation. maybe you’re right. i cut a deal with my left brain and the right one is granted permission to do a spring cleaning every other second now.
makes traveling from street to street much lighter.

i’m glad you liked this poem and thank you for the bricks and mortar!
