even the ripples are forgotten

7 Jul

stretched out bike chain links still function
when enough dirt collects between the links.
it’s of course a temporary solution,
but it keeps the chain from jumping
and keeps the rider from flying over the handle bars.

it reminds me of loveships that suddenly sink
because the stern or bow
gets a new idea and the other one
doesn’t like what they hear anymore.
the ship was a stuffed turkey farce and
the new naked water never tasted so right.

*broken bats baseball on the love between umpire and manager
getting the heave-ho

I love the part about keeping the rider on the back side of the handles…. absolutely, hands-down, my favorite!
