more sitting under the acorn tree and things

13 Jul

a kiosk outside the cemetery offers
25 cent past life readings.
the lemonade is free.
the results cause a disruption because
no one likes to be called
an SS pilot dropping napalm on Hanoi.
is that even possible?

it doesn’t matter as people get
knocked off their ethnic and ego centers
into one wind.
tree roots suddenly become our ancestors and
all royalty is turned to aluminum slush as
people dance like plants in the middle of suddenly.

*broken bats baseball
not again today, yes again today

The last two lines are wonderful, nonsensical on their face, and yet I found myself saying “Well, I can get behind this notion, I guess…”

I find that the middle of suddenly has its own distinctive smell and sound.
