i eat all kinds of words

16 Nov

i stumbled on a displaced children photo exhibit;
the uprooted tribes and residential boarding schools.
i was drinking coffee.
it was raining,
but i kept reading to jump start my morning head.
the ingredients of hand soap would have done the trick
and anyway,
only a mother understands a barren clothesline or
a stray umbilical cord looking like tumble weed
so i wandered west to the corner of peel and sherbrooke
and waited beside
la tendresse

    Beautiful, Steve. I didn’t see this sculpture the last time I was in Montreal, but should’ve.

      Thanks Millie. The statue really grabbed me when I first saw her. So much sacrifice and devotion.
