it’s probably better to have amnesia

30 Nov

wine makes me do stupid things
so does music sometimes.
i was listening to toots thieleman’s “bluesette”
and started thinking about the only dog i’ve ever really known.
we lived together for almost three years.
we used to walk around the park together.
i’d throw a ball and she’d fetch it like it
was the only thing in the world that mattered.
she eventually moved to the country for more open spaces.
i saw her a few months later.
she didn’t remember me.

I’ve got news for ya. She didn’t leave you so that she could move to the country. That was just an alibi, so as not to hurt your feelings. She actually left you because she was so sick of that damn Toots Thielman song.

Hey Glen, you make a good point because any harmonica sound or anything resembling a harmonica sound-in Toots case the whistle-caused her to whimper and of course, anytime I came across that kind of sound, I made sure to press play when she was in the room.

I wonder if he double-tracked guitar and whistling, or was he whistling as he played? He is note perfect with each.

yeh, i sort of noticed that too. maybe he practiced whistling so much that it became second nature like tapping a beat on the table.
