rabbi kamish day 7; taxi driver blues

1 Feb

rabbi kamish heard the bottled up sound of
10,000 prayers screaming to get out.
he knew the risks of countless gilguls,
destroying souls not yet born,
but he and five boys walked to the wharf anyway and
wished Sid and his checker marathon cab
a good shabbas.
they drove the marathon through the city’s entrails,
waving the down and out on board;
one rider at a time.
