there’s always make believe, booze, and wishful thinking

12 May

this is so pleasing to imagine;
all these happy people;
so efficient and grateful
singing and dancing on such short notice
after learning again that
we’re born but die
this is so pleasing in fact
that i might pretend that I’m dancing and singing too and
maybe will me some gene kelly who knows
but right about then and now
the ice cubes clank all cynical
looking like crying rocks
the tears drowning in my smuggled in whisky glass and
19 straws appear
and i’m drunk in a slurpy flash
waking up a few hours later
underneath the stand alone wardrobe
thinking what a colorful comforting sky;
all these coats above me looking like super hero capes.
it must be the whisky,
but i’m in good happy warm hands
when they help me to my feet;
homo erectus again.

    I like the idea of cynical ice cubes.
